Tennis Court Maintenance

Please be aware that the Habersham tennis courts will be closed for resurfacing from Thursday, March 29 through Sunday, April 1.
The courts will re-open as usual on Monday, April 2.

This presentation is part of the CNU Lecture series put on by the Beaufort members of CNU-Carolinas.  This is a great opportunity to come hear from one of the nation's experts on how to make urban retail work in your town or neighborhood.  The lecture is March 28 at 6pm and will be held in the main auditorium on the Beaufort campus of the Technical College of the Lowcountry.  For directions or more information, please email us at carolinas@cnu.org.

Women's Coastal Skills Clinic

Weekend workshop to expand women’s knowledge of the Low Country outdoors! Weekend begins on the afternoon of Friday, April 13th with a Naturalist-guided “Secrets of the Salt Marsh” tour. Twelve educational, hands-on programs will be offered including a History of the Lighthouse, Birding 101, Cast Netting, Salt Marsh Kayaking, Shell Fishing, Beachcombing, How to Make a Dreamcatcher and more! Meals included, camping accommodations at Hunting Island and a special rate on a hotel in nearby Frogmore available.

Event runs from afternoon of Friday, 13 April through afternoon of Sunday, 15 April.
Hunting Island State Park, 2555 Sea Island Parkway
$189 per person, plus cost of accommodations (deadline 01 April, limited to 60 women, 16 and over).

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Boating Education

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary - Flotilla 10-1 - Boating Education Schedule
  • About Boating Safely - March 31st
  • On-Water Training - April 14 th

About Boating Safely covers what’s needed for safe operation of recreational boats.  Topics include terminology, power and steering systems, legal requirements, navigation, safe boat handling and conduct on the water.  Adults who pass the optional exam receive a certificate; children under 16 will receive a wallet card.  Cost is $50, including the text & lunch.

On-Water Training, which is conducted during a 2-3 hour cruise aboard a U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary vessel operated by a qualified crew, covers boat handling, basic navigation and safety procedures.  Cost is $40.

Classroom program will be held at Caddy’s Pub & Grill in Rose Hill Plantation from 8:30a to about 4:30p.  The on-water program will depart from a local marina at a convenient time.  Ask about a discount for a second family member.  For groups with ten people or more, the programs can be conducted at a time and location of their choice.
